In order to install Ubuntu Linux amd64 version, do I need to have installed the 64-bit OS bios/drivers for the Z80k or are those bios/drivers for Windows XP-64 bit?

I have the ASUS wireless network card in my z80k. I am unable to setup my notebook to join my home network. Also, I am unable to use remote desktop. I thought that the ASUS wlan card 802.11b/g but it only shows up as 802.11g.

I bougth the 5400 rpm Hitachi TravelStar 60 gb for my ASUS z80k. However, I hear too many clicks from the harddrive. It works alright but the its slightly annoying. could there be something wrong with the write-head?
