It sounds to me as iff you have a faulty video cable connection inside the LCD panel. If you keep twisting it like you have described you will break the actual LCD panel itself.

You probably need to first install the Microsoft Universal HD Audio architecture driver then the realtek drivers. Some lappys also insist on installing the modem drivers before all of the audio works correctly.

Does the normal indicator light up? e.g. AC and Charging?
If everything works normally, it is possible the motherboard's charging ckts are toast.

Download a utility that monitors your CPU temps (Notebook hardware control is what I use) that will give you a clue as whether or not your CPU is over heating due to a bad heat pipe / heatsink.

Not that I know of but....if you contact HP they should ship you recovery discs out at no cost considering that you are intitled to the recovery discs as part of he purchase of your laptop.

On some desktop computers that means the BIOs cannot detect the video card. Hopefully that is not your problem. I would reseat the laptop memory and go from there.
