This is easy to me.... As long as the unit works when plugged into the Gen2/M170 with the bios the physical mods are nothing.

This is normal behavior with non intel wifi cards. All my lappies do this with Atheros cards. You won't even notice it after a bit. It is a very small trade off for a huge performance boost.

Yeah it certainly is but thats what makes it worth it to me at least.
