Just to make sure my thinking is correct here, the motherboard/chipset needs to be 915 (i.e. not a laptop that can only support the 855 chipset)? Could one expect to have better battery life after changing to an 855 chip?
Thanks, guys.
Can you only pinmod the 1.6? Does anyone have the link for the guide?
Yes, it can be done. Yes, it will void the warrenty. You order all the parts you need from Sony, but it costs more than if you speced the laptop with the Bluetooth option. You can find a thread about it here:...
I'll start you off with an offer of 1500 + shipping.
Indeed. It's a shame too. I would have ordered one of the 4xx series notebooks from Japan if the battery life wasn't so bad. Back on topic, Nintek (http://www.nintek.com.au/) said they can get the X50 in for me for $AUS3125 shipped....
I love the Sony S series. It's the laptop I am looking at getting for myself (considering I can't find a WSXGA screen for the X50 either). There's a s270 with 2.0ghz 1gig ram and 80gig hdd with 2 years warrenty (with their current...

It's not hard to use the WASD key layout for CS:S on the laptop keyboard and a USB lazer mouse (which gets its power from the laptop).
The HK model should come with 1 year international warrenty. Some countries only get domestic one year, others international. For some reason we (Australian models) get 1 year international and 3 domestic. If you really want the WSXGA...
