I would get a 2.5. Why? Because I would want to use it on the go, and they don't require their own power in most cases. When I'm at home I could just leach wirelessly, so I wouldn't really need an at-home external drive.

If you are a physics or eng. student, I can see the use of it for drawing diagrams and formulas that can't be done with a keyboard. I don't see the use for a business student, however.

I think they used the TC-type card due to their battery life with the Sonoma chip. Considering it only has 1-3.0 hours of battery life standard, I can see why they wanted to get more out of it.
