It only sticks out about 1/4 of an inch at most. I leave it in all the time and have had no fear of damage. The card also has two little led lights, one green and one blue.

Nevermind, I figured it out . Got the driver updated to 77.72. So far it works, now it's time to try BF2 and see if there are any improvements.
