Mind you, changing the motherboard is also not worth it. Inspiron 6000's that had the X300 took DDR2 memory instead of DDR which is what a GMA equipped 6000 uses. You can buy a new system for the price of a board, the card, and the memory.
Not sure if it really makes a difference for the OP, but my I6000 and my sisters both have the intel GMA graphics and both have DDR2 ram in them.
