I had my Gen2 for about a year before I upgraded to the 7800GTX. The 6800 Ultra is reasonably fast but it started to chug in a couple of places on Oblivion whereas the 7800GTX takes anything I throw at it and runs cooler.

I've been playing Titan Quest for a couple of days (I updated it beore playing to the 1.08 version) and I have no problem on my XPS Gen2 it has 7800GTX Go and I am using the Dell 84.69 driver. I wonder if it is a Dual Core issue?

I kept my XPS Gen2 but bought my son an E1705 which had the 7800 go and my wife an Inspiron 6000, of course, I also upgraded my laptop to a 7800GTX along with a 100gb 7200rpm hard drive.

Did you reinstall the dell system software and all the drivers? If not I expect that is the problem. The CoreDuo, even moreso than the Pentium M, many times won't switch states correctly without the correct system...
