I've always found Dell's XPS line seems awfully tacky and gaudy and just.. kind of insulting to the integrity and maturity of the people who buy their systems. These laptops aren't toys ffs they're powerful pieces of electronic equipment!
I'm pretty sure it's PATA having looked at the tech specs of the toshiba drive i currently have on their website.. How can you tell when it was originally built? I got it in June '05 if that's any help...

what I can't understand is that the 780 still costs as much as it does what with the advent of dual core and all that.. is it scarcity of actual processors that keeps the price up?
