I have a Dlink DI-784. I believe it uses Atheros chips.
If using wired NIC, use a crossover cable. Set IP to DHCP which should automatically assign IPs. If not, just manually assign the IP... use like 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2 If using wireless, set it for adhoc then the rest is the same...
