To answer my own post. According to the response from David Liu at Sager Tech support, no Bios is available that will allow booting from USB.

Hi. Has anyone booted from a USB device, either floppy, HD or USB stick using a 5680? If you have, could you tell me what kind of device and what bios revision you have? Thanks!

Looks like the same story with me. Left hand side, one year and one month after purchase. I love my Sager but if they don't offer a better design replacement, I'll have to reconsider my next purchase...

Out of curiosity, how did y'all (anyone) disable himem in the bios so it would take the flash?
