My i6000D plays half life 2 just fine, so I dont know where people are saying it wont play it. There is a thread that compare the Radeon 9600 and the X300, cant remember where. But the jist is the two are about the same performance wise....

In all seriousness, neoufo51 has the right idea, go with what you can afford. I got the 2Ghz because I wanted to get the best parts that will always be there. i.e. leaving the mem at 256mb so I can order it cheaper somewhere else.
