nice sounds, celldweller question - the 5680 has a 4-pin firewire, does it work with external enclosures that have a 6-pin connector? I know there are 4-6 pin cables, but do they really work? Has anyone tried to use one?

try setting the background applications to higher priority (in system preferences | performance ) I don't think there is another way in XP to control priority of a process... only Windows Server 2003 has this feature.
