a sempron is an a64 with the 64 bit disabled so the battery life wont be good as a centrino but that is a nice deal for a small lappy
Fedora? Slackware? Damn Small? pick your choice For windows? Id say firefox is a must (or k-melon) and stick with media updates. Personallly I dont use a firewall (router has it) and i dont need a virus scanner cause i have a brain...
msi has the s250-s270 notebooks which arent too shabby either
hey im getting one for my senior year. Im gonna be on the schools web team (its a independent study of sorts) and also taking programming 2 so I sorta need it
your go6800 also needs more space and juice so it comes at a cost aside from cash. The question over which is better is gonna boil down to mobility vs performace. The p-m gets better battery life and is better at 32bit stuff but the a64...
so? thats one distro and even then he is bound by the gnu which means its a waste of time for him.
for its price its rather decent actualy. True it doesn't have graphics capability but if you want to do programming, html, email, net stuff, etc it wou make a nice 64 bit setup.
I have read up on doing scripts for both usb drives and hard drives but all that was for linux. Under windows its gonna be really specialized (most companies use workstations and dont need such software) so I doubt you'll find it.
the msi S270 or s260 look like better choices because they dont use a celly. Averatec has a few sub 1k 12 inchers that look pretty nice too.
hmm i wonder if it would be possible to use a external hd to boot from when your at home so to save the normal hd? As for that particular one haven't seen it around before but its specs are nice
