Your should give IBM Custormer service a call, they should steer you in the right direction.

If someone here has a HP with vista pre-installed check your c:/Programs>>SWSetup folder and upoad the folder QPW or QLB.

Actually, they do come in the new vista box I checked it out at best buy it was a folder QPW v3 on the HD. If only I had my USB handy.

Return it...just maybe you'll get the option to run Windows Vista

I bought a hp dv9000t from hp and I missed the free upgrade period. So, I went and bought a full version of Vista business and did a full format. I did manage to backup SWSetup folder with all the software that came with the laptop....

wow, I would try to restore back when you received your unit.re-install shrink and try to run it again. Then if you keep having problems it might give you a better indication if it is faulty or not? just my 2 cents.
