Most office/mainstream applications today are not multithreaded. Things like games, 3d editing tools, movie editing tools, encoders mostly have been multicore optimized.
There's no more stock because DDR2 has no profit margins anymore. There is simply too much competition in that market. The DDR2 chip manufacturers that OCZ and others source from are reducing DDR2 output in favor of DDR3 and SSD.

The T60p does not have DVI or HDMI output, only analog D-SUB
DVI outputs are really rare among laptops. I don't know of any off of the top of my head except for Apple's Macbooks.
Try using Notebook Hardware Control. It will let you fine tune and lock in the Intel Speed Stepping features on your notebook so you can have clear control over your clock speed.
