Well if you want your laptop to stand out then definitely don't get a Dell. But the price is impossible to beat. Asus might have something up your alley. Maybe a MSI notebook too. Sagers are great price/performance though...

The best place would be to try and get it from Acer. Try calling their service center and ordering the part. I don't know of any place offhand that sells the Ferrari 3200 slot drive itself.
I get around 3 hours on the Ferrari, web browsing and e-mailing. ie. Light use. PM has better battery life over all i think. But i want to run 64 bit in the future. Up to you. Both are good.
The fan is always on. The Slot drive is really nice. Won't take those mini disks though. oh well. It's easy to remove and replace though if something goes worng. Enjoy!
