You could always try reinstalling the notebook system software. it might refresh the usb driver on your system. it can't hurt at least. newest version is available : here
Seriously guy, I understand where you're coming from on this one. your machine has some things you want fixed on it, and you would rather not have to pay for it. but large company or not, would you want to someone to be scamming you...

Your user has been putting medium to heavy objects on top of his notebook. he'll need a screen replacement. is it still under warranty?
just uninstall all the programs you dont like. either that or do a format/reinstall without wiping out image restore, put your drivers on there, and then make a ghost image of it and replace your image restore partition.
In Canada you get a sheet telling you what they did to your machine, if anything, i don't see how it would be different in the states.
