Go to Omegadrivers.com where they have optimized drivers for the X300. I hear you can get a decent speed increase out of it according to the guys at another forum.
In general, you should get the highest speed (ghz) Pentium M you can afford.

You're gonna have to wait for Dell to release another GPU. It probably wont happen for the 6000 until late this year at the earliest.
Ordering the 1gb stick that ecr72 linked to now...that is the exact one my friend recommended to me through IM just now and both those opinions are good enough for me. 1.5 gb of RAM...oh boy, my 6000 will be running like a dream.
