I smell some kinda driver conflict. Your system should really not have that hard of a time with a game of DE2's caliber. The 9600 isn't that old. Even in desktop terms.

Checking the diff between the SB and the Home version I noticed the SB is cheaper in the long haul, and you get a free Palm Zire or Printer, but you don't get the discount on the 7200rpm drive, which is annoying. So it kinda leaves...
