I've cleaned the laser with alcohol also and I'm still getting the same thing.

If you mean the brands of cd's and dvd's, I've been using the same brand for months and it's been working fine but all of a sudden it started messing up. And as for the software I use dvd shrink and nero.

I can copy to the hard disc just fine, but when I try to burn a disc I keep getting an error.

I've had the same concerns. But from all the games I've played (Pandora Tomorrow, Halo, NFS Underground, KOTOR) everything looks great. No stretching or black bars at all.

I've been having this problem for all most a week w/KotOR, Jedi Academy, and Max Payne 2. But today I downloaded and installed a patch for Jedi Academy and it played fine. I was hoping that was all it took for the other two games, but...

Funny. I get the same error message when I try a single player game of Jedi Academy, but when I try a multiplayer game it starts with no problem.
