That still seems very iffy to me. Normally product techs type with proper grammar and spelling. It really seems to me like some kid is pranking you.

I believe if you select one of the power profiles, (maybe always on?) it'll run at full speed and not rely on speedstep.

Done it, like I said Im pretty sure that slider and those properties only applied to the mic PORT, not the actual built in mic, though I could be mistaken. It is clicked, but gives me issues when using ventrilo, such as high static, so...

Clevo makes all three of those, and the chassis or case looks the same on all three. Different brands and paintjobs, thats all.

I personally love my 4880, I think its a stellar, well made laptop. As for the heat issue, it gets warm in some parts, but never uncomfortable. I personally find the warmth soothing for my hands.
