I have an older model tv and in order to use my DVD player without problems such as you describe you MUST use an rca converter. Try it, I gaurantee it will work. Buliwyf

One important thing that I have noticed is that if your computer is warm or hot (such as just having played a game) the computer seems to be programmed to wait for the battery to cool before charging it. That's my assumption anyway...
