You should be billed for it shortly. When I ordered my XPS720 I wasn't billed for it until after it shipped. You definitely won't be getting a free laptop.
I don't have that problem with mine. I'd say it's a problem with the monitor and if it's under warranty still to call Dell.

I don't think you can see detailed order status anymore. I just ordered an XPS720 and I tried for ages to see the different steps but I never found them. I guess it just says 'In Production' now. Kinda sucks but oh well.

My 600m doesn't care however my Dimension 8300 did. I ended up having to get Dell RAM for it. I believe that the issues are now completely gone though for any new system. Any quality RAM should work.
