I've come to the conclusion that while gaming it's not the background processeses or full harddrive, neither is it the speedstep because it stays at full while gaming.

Well, as I said before, when w2k was installed I didn't experience any stutter. I don't think the OS makes the system run cooler.
And overclocking my desktop and forgetting to turn on the fan didn't cause stutter.
