For a 15.4" screen, go with WSXGA+. But WUXGA looks great on a 17" screen, and it isn't too small on that big of a notebook.
If you're gonna go that route, I would get a desktop for gaming, and the ultra portable laptop for notes/IM. I don't think you're going to want to carry two laptops around, and a desktop is much better for gaming than a laptop.

Has anyone tried it yet? How hot does it get? I'm assuming it gets rather warm since it's all the power of the Z70VA in a thinner chassis.
