Using RMClock for processor management, full speed when plugged in, slowest speed when on battery.
I'm just curious as to why you want to stick with 1 DIMM? I know the Dell (maybe the AW) is dual channel, so you'll save money and get more performance out of getting 2 DIMMs..
If you think you'll need to upgrade later, I say go ahead...
