Started my 3rd year with my 8600 in February - not a single problem and going strong. Before that I had an 8000 that I used for 4 years with only a couple of problems. I have only had to call Dell Support once in all this time.

Have you downloaded and installed the Intel chipset driver? You may need this to enable standby in XP but can't say for certain as you haven't stated what machine you're talking about or what OS. Regards, Erronius
