This is probably a very noobish question, but I see Apple advertising how Windows PC's are unsafe due to a large number of computer viruses out there. I'm wondering, are there any viruses that threaten a mac?

For those of you who had the M170 and have upgraded to the M1710, can you actually tell that the new display is brighter than the last generation?
Dell says it's 30% brighter, but I wanted to get some subjective "real world"...
