well viruses or not, they were running the whole college off a single T1 line. if you had a 100% clean environment, two dorm buildings would still trash that connection. Either way, I still need to figure out how to get my dial up working.
I have run into some "complications" in my dorm, namely the complete and utter incapability of the Network Staff to get things working. To make a long story short, we have one (1) T1 line running two dorms and three buildings....

the only time i was able to crash the 4780 was after installing the new catalyst drivers... the mobility 9600 doesnt like them much, methinks.
an hour or less.... more battery life would be nice but thats like expecting a dragster to be fuel efficient. it just isnt happening without some redesigns

i play only FF XI at the moment (one hell of an addictive game...) and the WXGA is fully supported by it. 1440x900, 16:10 enabled in ff xi config, and the game is absolutely beautiful. i dont want to use more than 1440x900 on any laptop...
the pentium 4s do get very hot... the bigger sagers (5680, 8890 and so on) have pretty good cooling. i believe with AS5 one guy said his p4 was at 57c loaded. thats very good when you consider the size of the heatsink and airflow......
