I use a store version of XP Pro. But first I download the wireless driver to my USB flash drive. Once I install it, I go to Dell site and d/l more drivers and go from there after my new install.
I go to the function in windows and you can tell it to be put on standby when you close the lid. So I close the lid when my PC is on, it went to standby. Even better.
I just put in a pair of 1 gig each of DDR2 667 PC2-5400 memories for my new D620 and I notice the fan is always on and running. Is this true???
It is too late to use the 30% off coupon for the Latitude. Keep your eye out for it and it will come on again. Also, Latitude and XPS coupon are hard to come by. Dell usually dont do those.
I could not find boot.ini in the c: root I even said 'show hidden files' and still cant find it.
I did it! I went to google and just type "boot.ini" and I went to the MS site and it tell you all there. I got XP Pro, so I use "bootcfg" command which is more cleaner and I did all the fancy flags. BUT this...

It didnt work for me. I did "fixboot c:" and did it 2 times and I still get the prompt. What else can I do?
Hey dude. I suggest you try a look at WMWare! This is an awsome software. I can run all kinds of OS on it and never need HD partitioning. You will be glad you did!
I got my D620 yesterday too and you are correct. I am trying very hard to get my screen bright. I got the Nvidia and I can pump up the brightness and now it look wash out. You have to look straight. Top and bottom looks darker. ...
