I think a 7200RPM HDD would drain more power... and you'll have to pay lots/go out of your way to get a 80+GB HDD @ 7200RPM..... I would go w/ 5400RPM if you want to get 80-100GB

I downloaded AMD CPU Info, and so far, it fluctuates around 800Mhz... even w/ Always On settings.. What kind of resourse intensive applications will I have to run to get it into the Ghz range? What speeds are your laptops running at?
