I installed 3dmark06 on vista and i installed the patch. When 3dmark gets to the first cpu test my M9700 shuts down. can anyone help?

OMG!!!!!! I found it muahahaha!!!, I thought I was going nuts! found out that under appearance settings it was set to vista basic and not the Aero, so if someone else is going nuts too, go to personalization, window color and appearance...

found out there is a patch for 3dmark lol so duh on my part on that. still can't get the 3d-flip of windows to work. there has to be something that is interupting it but can't find information no matter how hard i look and when i do find...

nothing came up when trying that. tried to run 3dmark but is black? what the heck?

ok, found video drivers to fix the problems that i have been having but i still can't get the 3d windows flip to look like it should. all there is is a bar in the middle of the screen with icons when i click on it.

Thanks for your replys, they have been very helpful. Think i will try both, the spire and the zalman. spire for traveling and the zalman for home use. probably nuts for getting both lol the zalman looks more practicle and way better...

hmm, heard good things about it too, just after seeing the dimentions it made me second guess cause it is sooo small. think that it would make the laptop teeter on it.
