Hmm... let's see... you said you get 70 fps in HL2... wtf? I get around 30 maybe, even in smaller areas. Everything set to high, no AA, 1680 x 1050. Same as you. I get high 2000's for 3DMark05 and that is pretty normal everything...

The head has to move a lot less for the 100GB since it is a lot closer together. If the 7k drive was 100GB then it would have a speed increase.

neither did mine... make sure you are not blocking one of the bottom intakes

lots of games dont have widescreen support (1680 x 1050) so you are probably choosing 1600 x 1200... that won't work. If it doesn't support widescreen go with 1400 x something.
