y not the ddr400 i've been reading some threads and some ppl speak of some "memory conspiracy" where they cant get the thing to run at ddr400 is this because they are running it mixed w/ ddr333 ram or is it because the...

hi.. i have a preconfigured v2410us it has 2 sticks of 256mb pc2700 ram i was wondering if purchasing pc3200 ram would have better performance or should i get pc2700 ram that have better timings? thanx
actually. centrino hardware control has renamed itself to notebook hardware control and it does support the amd family with some restrictions however, the speed settings such as dynamic switching, max performanace, max battery. etc.....
yes if dell just set the memory speed slower, it could tighten the memory timings and thus increase performance
so i bought a dell 600m 2 weeks ago and its a pentium m-745 1.8ghz 400fsb with 2x256 mb of pc2700 ram @ 2.5-3-3-7 running at 100x18 so CPUZ says that its running a 3:5 divider, that the memory is running (@166mhz) which is faster...
hmm.. i find these p-m systems to run pretty cool, that is.. the proc doesnt really heat up... most of the heat comes from my HD
