I'd be very interested to see how an OC'd 7800GTX compares to an OC'd 7900GTX... I don't think there will be a significant difference...
You only need a small phillips to remove the case screws. The 7800GTX just swaps straight over, you don't need to remove the heat sink on the video card unless you want to apply AS5 to the core.
This can be pointless if the heat sink...
I think it's down to luck how your stock heatsink sits on the GPU of the 7800GTX. Some have good contact, some don't at all. I was lucky with mine.
