My 9300 yesterday more or less became nonfunctional. When you boot it up, the screen at first appears fine, then small lines horizontal and slightly slanted appear around the cursor, changing colors. These lines then form boxes of patterns that spread across the entire screen, growing in intensity and number. Eventually the machine stops responding and the screen goes black. Rebooting results in a solid black screen unless the machine is let to sit for a while, maybe half...
My laptop is about 14 days out of warranty, and about 50 days ago I had the motherboard replaced under warranty. Just yesterday my machine became unusable, and I suspect the motherboard may be to blame.
Do replacement parts carry an individual warranty? The customer service rep I talked with last night was unhelpful and I can't chat with technical support as I am out of warranty. I believe it's common practice for replacement parts and services to carry a 90 day...
I wish I knew more about it, im doing some research right now, but could you tell me why the x1400 is a bad thing? People seem to be saying it's more powerful than the 6800, and the rest of the new inspirons definitely seem to be a mark up from the 9300. Do you have specs, benchmark results, anything like that?
Hey, I've been looking at dell's new e1705 laptops, and was thinking it might be smart to sell my 9300 and upgrade to one of the newer models. I haven't read much about the new machines yet, what do people think about them? Are the new 3d cards and processers a marked upgrade (especially for photo and video editing?) Also, from first glance im thinking I might be able to sell my rig on ebay for about 1200-1300, and could get a new 1705 for around 1500 after shipping and...
The HDTV is an older Samsung, only has composite, s-video and component input, supports 480p, 720i, 1080i. So I guess I need a converter, VGA to yprpb. Will VGA support 1080i, or as close to it as DVI would? I poked around a bit, could you tell me if either of these products look like they would work?
Hey, I've got a 9300 with a nVidia 6800go, and I'm trying to output to the highest quality to a 1080i HDTV with component input. Is this possible? I've been looking around at DVI to component adaptors, and am having a hard time finding DVI-D to component adaptors (may not exist) and i'm not sure if a DVI-I adaptor will work with the 6800go. Has anyone had experience with this, know if it's possible and what adaptors I might want to look into? Thanks
Ive had the EXACT same issue, when I use my TV out Svideo to Svideo it works perfectly, but if I throw in the svideo to composite adaptor to plug it into a composite TV, I get nothing but flat grey or scrolling bars. The solution you say is a 4pin svideo to composite adaptor? Where can I get one of these?
WUXGA. I was incredibly sceptic as well, ordered an WXGA+, ended up returning it and getting a WUXGA. From an average viewing distance (18-24 inches) and using the ClearType Tuner, I have absolutely no problem seeing any icons or reading any text, and the extra screen room to work with is absolutely PRICELESS, especially for *really* pretty gaming or any kind of graphic or layout work.
