The score patterns for the M505x/xl are pretty consistant.
Expect to see: (At stock speeds anyway)
3DMark01SE: Around 9,000
3DMark03: Around 2,500
AquaMark3: Around 20,000
SEEMS like they are the same chip -- I made a mistake, Cn'Q is for the Desktop version of the A64 while PowerNow! is for the Mobile version of the A64; it's supposedly the same technology with just a different name....
Here's my take on this:
As of today, 6/30/04, there are currently six availible processors that are used in notebook pc's:
1) AMD Athlon XP-Mobile
2) AMD Athlon 64-DTR
3) Intel Celeron
4) Intel Centrino (Pentium-M)
5) Intel...
And that fan... it doesn't seem to pull a lot of air... seems fairly weak.
Specs are probably around... (estimate):
3500-4000 RPM (At MAX speed)
8-10 CFMs (Cubic feet of air moved per minute)
I examined the bezel of the laptop...
I never managed to take that off.. I took off what was able to be "easily" taken off..
As for the pic.. yes; it's a dead link and unfortunately, I no longer have the picture. It had the keyboard and the sheeting underneath...
I took off the keyboard and the shield plate under it.. you can see most of the 'insides' of the M505x.
The chipset/CPU socket/GPU/wireless card are all visible.

Same thing happens to me.
It should be nothing to be concerned about. Even though it dips a little, it doesn't continue to drop. I've never seen the battery drop below 98% while on the AC.
Is the problem temporarily 'fixed' by restarting the PC?
I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the Power settings and if idle, how long before the screen gets shut off. I had that problem too, I just set it to "never"...
I HIGHLY doubt that the CPU is soldered to the socket. It should be using the standard socket/latch mechanism found in desktop PCs/motherboards. There is no need for the CPU to be soldered to the motherboard nor would it be possible with...
