Can't complain my 1710 is still kicking and I came from the 1st generation XPS Laptop then the XPS Gen 2 and now my current 1710 but honestly can't see me geting rid of this one until it really falls behind. And so far it's still doing...

I think it is ment 30 % brighter then the XPS Gen 2/9300 rather then the 1705/9400. Which it is as I have owned both.
Don't count on them droping to be honest we are geting on that time they will more then likely go up in price as the stock becomes more limited as newer cards will replace them. Just the way it goes with propriatory mobil GPU's

As others stated start with the easy and cheap upgrades first Ram then GPU thats going to give you the most boost. By Rule of thumb with gaming and newer games you should have at least a 2.0 CPU but upgrade the Ram and GPU and see how...
