ok i just pinged from my laptop to the main computer that has the router attached to it.. i got it to work but not sure what it means

4 packets sent 4 recieved etc
but i cant ping from the desktop to...
alright so i got my 9300 yesterday, and i hook it up with the ethernet cord and i can get to the internet and all but when i try to go to my network places to get files from my old desktop.. it shows nothing.
i did the setup...
