I got the same problem with my 7800 gtx. It was even artifacting in the bios. Now nothing shows up on the screen at all. Dell replaced it once while it was under warranty, now no warranty and a card that lasted only 1.5 years...

Are you getting frame rate problems in games?

Are you actually watching an hd channel or are you watching standard defintion channels? If you are watching standard def why the hell are you complaining about hd?

Thats an output, not an input. You just need a pc HD tv tuner to watch hd tv on your laptop
