That's odd, I find this keyboard quieter than my last notebook, and a hell of a lot quieter than my keyboard at work...
Either you have a dodgy keyboard or you are used to quieter keyboards
the default setting for f12 on my ibook is expose, not dashboard. No you dont need to install extra software to get the "hot corners" (if thats what they're called).
