If it is a x300 from a 9300 it will have the same form factor, but the x300 from the i6000 is completely different.
I don't remember when I sold my x300 if the screw holes lined up exactly with the Nvidea card, however. So I am no help.
Are you out of warranty?
If so, buy a new 7800GTX from Dell, while we still can.
Send back the broken one within 21 days of getting the new one.
