I just received my 2096 and I'm happy to report that it has no dead pixels. My Dell had the screen replaced like 4 times and 3 of them had dead pixels.
Have you left a message with them since ordering it? I just received my 2096 from PCTorque. I had to contact them to change something with my order and left a message by phone and then they called me back.
Strange. Tried it again tonight and it worked. The duplex settings sounded like a good idea. DHCP has been enabled in TCP/IP Settings.

About a week ago my laptop started saying that it could not detect my 130W power supply. It used to do this on and off and then did it all the time.

I had the same problem. Had to get a USB floppy drive and install the SATA drivers (HP finally have them on the driver download list on the support site. Didn't when I first had the problem) then install windows.
It runs cool. Never have any overheating issues. He is not overclocking or anything. I've been spending an eternity on the phone with hp trying to get it replaced.
