You basically have system memory and video memory. That's it. Just to do a sanity check, do you have a bootable CD you can try? I don't hold much hope out for this, though; it's the BIOS that does the boot sequence, and if even the BIOS...

Don't think it has one--unless you have an external USB-to-Serial adapter box, maybe. If you want to know that COM port(s) your modem is using, however, you can use device manager and scroll over to the modem, select properties...

My bad. I just expected that you could get SOMETHING running--because at the end you mentioned running memtest.
