Maybe. I would have waited for the Sager 98** series to come out if I had known about them. But I'm perfectly happy with my 8790 today, it's had only a few problems.
I'd go with a backpack. All that stuff is way too much to sling over your shoulder, but then again you'll develop a mountain climber's gait with such a load on your back...
Maybe get a little ultraportable and ditch the 8790,...
Hacks usually do mess up Windows somehow. A couple of things lag in Windows for me as well because I patched it to modify the theme, but I've learned to work around them. Good luck working out your problem
