i dont remember if nvidia drivers reported temps for 6800 series cards. im on 7x series video cards now so thats what i use for gpu temp

i think he meant GPU temp under full load. im not reading anything about CPU temps from him. but maybe he should tell us where his CPU temps lie. Could be a clue to helping his issues.

not yet. my notebook is not with me right now, but im waiting to hear back as to what is going on.

dunno bout the random boots, but the GPU fan acts like that when its not under full load... try fn+f2 and that should keep it at full blast.

I am wondering if an alienware laptop video card would work in a sager. the alienware model is m7700 and has the 7800gtx in it (p4/amd) its for the same clevo board that is used in 9880/9890. everything looks the same, i looked at...

update - ats is bankrupt. charles doesnt return my emails anymore. i am considering filing a lawsuit cuz i feel scammed (esp since they stole my parts, and PCT gave me the run around and false hope)

whatever you do, buy from sager and not a reseller. too many people have been screwed over.

Happy New Year to you all.. Sally, make sure the "extend battery life" option in the bios is turned off.. Otherwise the fan wont come on as often on the m5550 and that can lead to some serious heat issues (slowdowns in games)
