Yes, Ferrari 3200 supports ATA-100. I use the Hitachi 7K60 on my Ferrari 3400. If you are looking for more storage space you should get that Momentus 160GB drive. But, a real increase in performance you'll only get by upgrading to a 7200...
When I run in to problems after installing omegadrivers I reinstall the latest VIA Hyperion drivers (VIA 4in1-chipset driver). It usually works, otherwise I just go back to a version that I know works.
This is what I did to make my owm XP-CD:
Get I386-folder from recoverypartition/CD by simply reinstalling the Original-ACER-XP-installation.
Get wpa.dbl from C:\windows\system32 and replace wpa.db_ in I386-folder.
