i have my PF set to zero, in bf2 PF, even on the 7200 rpm hd, causes hitches in the game, its noteiceable , evrytime it glitches, the hdd light flashes, turn of PF and it doesnt happen. now i wouldent reccomend it unless you have 2...
the high siearra is good, but its a SNUG fit ,wich is good and bad (im prety happy with mine) the xps will cause little intentions in the corner of the backpack its so snug, but that means no sliding and scrathign that awsome finish on...
most cost effective and practical will be the 2 year , and if you plan to take it outside of your house, then yes the complete care is soooo worth it.
i use my xps gen 2 for school, works great, battery life is fine aslong as you dont game heh, and all the boreing classes i have that i would play games in , have outlets at the desks.

idk bout hp, my moms compaq came with a whole seperate (LOCKED) partiton for backup, it may not be accesible through means of ghosting. i havent used ghost before to MAKE an immage, only used it to restore from an image that was sent...
i bet its just a simple case of changing the floating point seting on the gpu, it doesnt calculate annything quite as precise , speeds up the processing, thus more fps and a minimal quality difference. just a guess though
