Personally, I think the 4780 is one of the most magnificent designs I've ever seen.. I like the silver/black contrast even better than the all black scheme of the 8790. As far as the 5680 goes, it isn't technically *ugly*... I think it's...
Good to know, thanks. Since you have a 4780 (with wireless I'm assuming), how is it? Any complaints?
Does this card that everyone dislikes come with the 4780 as well?
Oh ok, I hope that there will be a way for people without the floppies to flash their BIOS as well (maybe with a bootable CD or something). I'm sure that wouldn't be too hard to do.
>> Sager emailed me the new bios, and it does allow to disable the beep. You do need to be able to boot from floppy drive. Contact Sager for the bios. I thought the 4780's didn't have floppy drives? Or do you have an external one?
I'm still waiting for a tracking number for my 4780! I ordered on January 2nd and they received my check on the 5th, but I haven't heard anything yet. I guess I'm a part of the famous waiting club too!
>> I JUST GOT 1 DEAD PIXEL near the right edge (or perhaps a cluster of 2) on my 5680 UXGA screen Are they dead, as in not lit? Or stuck as in showing red/green/blue nonstop? If you had a stuck pixel appear, it might be...
What's the difference between flashing the BIOS and "firmware"? Aren't they the same thing? Unless, I'm guessing, the key-switcher thingy is flashing something other than the BIOS?
This is an issue that has to do with port forwarding and (most likely) network address translation (NAT). You would have to talk to the administrators of the firewall about this and ask them if there is some sort of proxy for you to use...
Question: If you upgrade the BIOS in the future, will future BIOS's make the keys revert back to their original states? If so, would the above instructions have to be repeated at that point (assuming they would still work)?
